FAQ

What can I expect before/during/after my massage?

BEFORE:

If this is your first appointment at Willow & Rose Wellness, please arrive 5-10 minutes early so you can fill out an intake form. Once you arrive, Alexa will greet you at the door and will take you back to the treatment room where you will discuss your intake form, and your goals for the session. She will then ask you questions to get to know how to best customize the session for your needs and preferences. If you have questions at any point, please feel free to speak up!

Once you have both agreed on a treatment plan, she will leave the room and allow you privacy to get undressed. You may prefer to completely disrobe or remain partially clothed- its up to you and your level of comfort. You will then get comfortable on the massage table underneath the top sheet and blanket, and if any adjustments need to be made to the face rest or bolster, Alexa can adjust it when she returns to the room.

DURING:

After several minutes, Alexa will knock on the door and ask permission to enter. She will then make any necessary adjustments to the table to ensure that you are comfortable, and the session will begin.

She will start the massage with general relaxing techniques to calm your nervous system and soften the muscle tissue, and will then move on to deeper and more specific work. If at any point you need the pressure to be adjusted or need something to make you more relaxed and comfortable, please don't hesitate to speak up.  If you experience any pain or discomfort, please let Alexa know right away. There is *good* pain (you can continue to breath through it and other muscles stay relaxed) and *bad* pain (you feel the need to hold your breath and tense up to deal with the pain) and we want to avoid experiencing any bad pain during the session.

AFTER:

When your session is complete, take your time getting up from the table and getting dressed. When you're ready, open the door slightly to let Alexa know that you are ready for her to come back in for some follow up, and she can offer some at-home treatment recommendations based on her assessment from the session.

After discussing the session and treatment, Alexa will begin the check out process. If you would like to leave a tip, simply add the gratuity at checkout. Tipping is neither required nor expected, but of course we appreciate the gesture! However, the best appreciation you can show is by referring your friends and family to Willow & Rose Wellness and writing a review to let everyone know about your great massage!
